I loved this am definitely going to read this book! I am fascinated by MLM culture. I have lots of acquaintances who have participated in these and was always so confused by what I saw on Facebook. But reading the bit about love bombing, now it makes much more sense. Thanks for sharing this.

What strikes me is that MLMs break just about every rule of running a business successfully and ethically, yet they still are around. Were it not for their artful dodge of ostensibly selling cosmetics, vitamins, etc. they’d be outlawed as pyramid schemes.

You’re welcome. This article on The Art Of Manliness by Brett and Kate McKay does a far better job of explaining what’s wrong with MLMs than I could:

MLM s....not my cup of tea.

I don't mean to or wish to dampen the interactions here - may i say a bit, please. Out of respect for the departed.

There was a family in Frederick, Colorado. The wife was besotted with her work for an MLM org., selling health enhancing patches to stick around one's body, & health powders - like one could make smoothies etcetera. I think. Anyway. It all ended extremely shockingly sadly and of course it's tragic beyond words. Summer 2018, after it happened and my first encounter, six months later, it's still raw in my mind, my heart.

MLM s - I'll always equate with those darlings, they didn't even make it to kindergarten...sigh...
